Pavement Rehabilitation at Local Regional Airport

The False River Regional Airport is a public-use general aviation airport located in New Roads, LA. As part of the Airfield Pavement Rehabilitation Phase IV Project, this initiative consisted of pavement rehabilitation on an existing runway, taxiway and three connectors.

Premier Geotech and Testing performed a total of eighteen pavement cores through the existing asphalt to determine the surface and base layer thicknesses across the site. We drilled a total of twelve borings to depths of about ten feet below existing site grades following the requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration AC 15/5320-6F Airport Design and Evaluation specifications in order to evaluate the insitu material for engineering analyses. Additionally, we provided a geotechnical engineering report including recommendations for flexible pavement sections and base/sub-base recommendations.
